You're paying for bandwidth you can't use
Distance breaks modern infrastructure. Your network is not slow. It is underutilised. Over distance, standard networks fail to use available capacity. Tillered removes distance as a constraint, accelerating data movement at the network layer without changing your tools or workflows.
Deploy across any infrastructure
Why networks underperform over distance
As distributed systems span more regions and continents, network performance degrades. Not because of insufficient bandwidth, but because transport protocols have always struggled with distance. Latency and packet loss compound over long paths, and TCP's congestion control reacts by reducing throughput, leaving available capacity underutilised. Adding more bandwidth does not solve the problem.
The Tillered approach
Tillered segments long-haul connections into shorter transport hops. Each segment recovers from packet loss locally and ramps up throughput independently, so a single lossy link no longer drags down the entire path. The result is higher sustained throughput over the same infrastructure.
On top of segmentation, dual transport modes and adaptive quality-of-service continuously tune traffic handling based on observed conditions rather than static rules. It all operates beneath your applications at the infrastructure layer, so any TCP-based workload benefits automatically with no application changes.
What real deployments look like
These numbers come from production environments where distance, suboptimal routing, packet loss, and congestion were already limiting throughput. Tillered improved performance without requiring changes to the underlying network. No hardware upgrades, no ISP negotiations, no re-architecture.
| Route | RTT/Latency | Without Tillered | With Tillered | Improvement |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Helsinki to Singapore NFS | ~168ms | 120 Mbps | 1.15 Gbps | 9x faster |
| AWS S3 EU to Singapore | ~160ms | 120 Mbps | 4.7 Gbps | 39x faster |
| Azure Sydney to US East | ~200ms | 91 Mbps | 4.7 Gbps | 52x faster |
| Geo Satellite (30 Mbps link) | ~850ms | 300 Kbps | 28 Mbps | 93x faster |
Results from production environments and controlled testing during Q3 and Q4 2025. Results vary by environment. Baseline throughput reflects real-world conditions including distance, BGP routing paths, retransmissions, and link contention. Tillered works with the existing network as-is.
How teams use Tillered

File protocols like NFS and SMB collapse over distance. Tillered accelerates them so remote compute behaves like local.
Learn more →Media & Entertainment
Productions generate terabytes daily. Tillered makes same-day cloud dailies viable by accelerating uploads from 24 hours to 1.5 hours.
